Two years ago Snappy started on a journey. The journey was to eliminate waste throughout the Division and become a stronger operational organization. We are succeeding in becoming a lean enterprise, putting into place lean systems to improve quality, eliminate waste and reduce delays from fabrication to the customer.

A lean organization emphasizes the prevention of waste: any extra time, labor or material spent producing a product that does not add value to it. Using lean tools, techniques and methods has helped Snappy improve delivery and shorten lead times.

A lean enterprise fosters our company culture in which all employees continually improve their skill levels and production processes. Because lean systems are customer focused and driven, a lean enterprise's products and services are created and delivered in the right amounts, to the right location, at the right time and in the right condition. A lean system allows production of a wide variety of products, efficient and rapid changeover among them as needed and efficient response to fluctuation in demand and increased quality.

Experts indicate that it takes from 3 to 5 years for an organization to become and sustain lean and make it a true part of the culture of an organization. So we are still learning, and our various locations are at different levels of lean perfection. However, we are committed to continue the journey to completion.
